Which KiTEC pipe should I use for a solar water heater?
PE-AL-PEX. It is rated to 8 kg/cm² at 80 °C and 5 kg/cm² up to 95 °C, and it is UV-stable for rooftop runs.
Is composite pipe better than GI pipe?
For water supply, yes in most cases. It does not rust or scale, carries more flow (C 150 against 100), comes in coils up to 300 m with fewer joints, and has a design life over 50 years.
Can KiTEC pipe be used for LPG, compressed air or diesel?
Yes, with the right grade and fittings: up to 6 kg/cm² for LPG and natural gas with brass fittings, 13.8 kg/cm² for compressed air and 11 kg/cm² for diesel and fuel oil at ambient temperature.
How should a composite pipeline be pressure tested?
With water, never air, at 1.25 to 1.5 times the working pressure, using a gauge with 0.2 bar divisions. A small pressure drop at first is normal as the pipe settles. We guide teams through KiTEC's test procedure.
Do you deliver and train on site?
Yes. We deliver across Pune in our own vehicle and give on-site jointing, bending and testing training to plumbing teams.
