Grades, pressure ratings and sizes from the KiTEC product manual, and which pipe to use for each job. All in stock at Blossom Engineers, Shivane.
An aluminium tube bonded between two layers of polyethylene. The plastic stops corrosion and keeps the bore smooth; the aluminium makes the pipe gas-tight, holds its shape when bent and keeps expansion close to copper. KiTEC is made in Silvassa with KiTECHNOLOGY BV, Netherlands, since 1996.

Best for high-pressure hot lines where you want the most headroom.

Brass compression, composite internal-sealing and crimp fittings in every common shape: equal and reducing tees, elbows, couplers, male and female threaded adaptors, saddles and tank connectors. Compression joints need no heat, glue or curing time, so a line can be pressure tested the same day.
We also supply ball, gate and control valves and GI pipe and fittings, so a site gets everything from one order.

Figures from the KiTEC product manual.
The smooth bore carries a Hazen-Williams coefficient of 150 against 100 for GI, and its smooth bore resists scale, so flow stays consistent through its service life.
Coils run up to 300 m and bend by hand, down to 5 times the pipe diameter with a bending spring. The bend holds its shape without clips, so fewer elbows and fewer leak points.
Flame spread 5 and smoke developed 5 under ULC-S102.2, low enough for vertical shafts and return-air plenums.
Thermal expansion of 23 × 10⁻⁶ /K, about the same as copper. The aluminium core can be traced with a metal detector inside a wall.
Carbon black protects against UV, and the pipe is rated down to −40 °C. Rooftop solar runs stay sound in the sun.
Thermal conductivity is 0.43 W/m·K, far lower than steel, so hot water loses less heat on the way to the tap.
